Early Life
Pandey was born into a family from Kanpur on March 11, 1991. She embarked on her modeling career in 2010, quickly making a mark by becoming one of the top nine contestants of the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest. Her striking presence even earned her a spot on the cover page of a fashion magazine.
In 2013, she took on the lead role in the film Nasha, portraying a teacher who engages in a sexual relationship with a student. While some praised her performance, others had mixed reactions. Rediff.com lauded her portrayal as a seductress, while the Mumbai Mirror felt she fell short of embodying the role of a responsible drama teacher.
The promotional posters for the film, featuring Pandey barely covered by placards, sparked controversy. Protesters in Mumbai tore down and burned the posters on July 20, 2013, expressing outrage over their perceived vulgarity. The general secretary of Shiv Sena Chitrapat objected to the advertisements, condemning them as highly vulgar and derogatory.
Personal Life
Pandey tied the knot with her longtime partner, Sam Bombay, on September 1, 2020, in a private ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The intimate event took place at their Mumbai home with close friends and family in attendance. However, just ten days later, Pandey filed a complaint against Bombay, alleging molestation, threats, and assault. Bombay was subsequently arrested on September 23 in Goa, where the incident occurred while Pandey was filming a movie in Canacona village.
The situation stirred controversy, with accusations leveled against Pandey for potentially misusing IPC Section 498A. Bombay was later released on bail, and Pandey reconciled with him. However, their swift reconciliation, coupled with Bombay’s arrest, led many to speculate on social media that the entire incident was a publicity stunt.
On November 5, 2020, Pandey faced another legal issue when she was arrested in North Goa for filming a nude video on government property. The arrest followed a complaint and FIR filed by the Goa Forward Party, who claimed the video was an affront to the women of Goa.
In a separate scandal, Pandey found herself embroiled in the major porn film racket controversy that implicated several Bollywood stars. However, on January 18, 2022, the Supreme Court of India granted her protection from arrest in connection with this scandal.
