Peter Mangs Wikipedia Biography
Johan Peter Mangs, born on March 4, 1972, in Älmhult, is a Swedish individual convicted of murder. On July 24, 2012, the Malmö district court sentenced Mangs for two murders, four attempted murders, and three cases of serious threats to life, resulting in a life imprisonment sentence. The verdict was appealed. On April 25, 2013, the Court of Appeal over Skåne and Blekinge modified the district court’s decision, finding Mangs guilty of two murders and eight attempted murders.
Peter Mangs experienced his parents’ divorce at a young age. He was raised by his mother and had an older sister, seven years his senior. His uncle, Sune Mangs, was known for his work as an actor and revue artist. Unfortunately, Peter’s sister faced challenges early in life, struggling with substance abuse, and tragically passed away at the age of 24.
Peter Mangs was passionate about music, and after completing his education at Hermodsdalsskolan in Malmö, he pursued the music track at Heleneholmsgymnasiet. While in high school, he not only played in bands but also began constructing electric basses. Following high school, Mangs furthered his musical education at the jazz-oriented Fridhem folk high school in Svalöv. Additionally, he took a carpentry course at Vingaskolan to enhance his skills in bass construction.
Arrest of Peter mangs
On November 9, 2010, Peter Mangs was arrested by the police as a suspect in multiple shootings, including two murders from 2003. The investigation lasted a considerable amount of time. In early May 2012, Mangs was formally charged with three murders and numerous attempted murders spanning from 2003 to 2010.
On July 24, 2012, the Malmö district court found Mangs guilty of two murders, four attempted murders, and three instances of serious threats. The court suggested that Mangs undergo a forensic psychiatric examination, in addition to those already conducted, to determine whether he should be sentenced to prison or receive psychiatric care.
On November 23, 2012, the Malmö district court sentenced Mangs to life imprisonment for the crimes he committed. The defense announced on December 10, 2012, that it would appeal the verdict. However, on April 25, 2013, the Court of Appeal upheld the life sentence. On June 25 of the same year, the Supreme Court decided not to grant Mangs leave to appeal.
