Career
Her diplomatic journey began in 2000 when she joined the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. From 2010 to 2012, she served as a senior adviser in Amman at the office of the UN Commissioner General for the United Nations Relief Agency for Palestinian Refugees and Refugees (UNRWA). Later, as ambassador and head of the Division of United Nations and International Organizations from 2012, she represented Switzerland in crucial negotiations and councils, including UN reforms, the UN budget, the Security Council, the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council, the Commission for Peace Consolidation, the Human Rights Council, and the UN Office for Drugs and Crime.
In August 2018, Mirjana Spoljaric assumed the role of the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General, Assistant Administrator of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS.
