Sandhu spent over a decade playing cricket as a fast bowler but had to abandon the sport in 2007 due to a severe elbow injury. Shifting his focus from sports to singing, he underwent vocal training for eighteen months and released his first album “This is Harrdy Sandhu” in 2011, composed by V. Grooves. Despite releasing the video for the song “Tequila Shot” from the album, both the song and album failed to gain much traction. Disheartened, Sandhu contemplated quitting singing unless his next single performed well. He collaborated with lyricist Jaani and Music Director B Praak to create the song “Soch,” which was released in 2013.
